Special Lady

This past weekend was full of holiday blur....with the exception of one very special event. Anthony's grandmother turned 94. When I say "she is one of the most precious people I have ever met" you can take all of the literary fluff and adjectives away and she is.. still.....one of the most precious people I have ever met. Jenny....Juanita......Grandma..is from Puerto Rico. She speaks pretty fair English...she has never driven a car, is a Prayer Warrior...Commander....Sargent...Officer, squeezer of grandchildren, and smoocher of great grandchildren and dearly loved by all who know her.
She attends a spanish speaking church close to her home. They pick her up and drop her off every Sunday. Many of her church friends attended her party and you could see and feel the love these people had for her. Her spirit is infectious, to say the least....she had them singing hymns and praising God right from her command post at the head of the table. I just sat there overflowing, listening to brothers and sisters praise Our Father. I didn't understand most of it, but every once in a while, a familiar word would surface and then more of me would spill over.
Just when you think she can't hear very well, you say something from across the room...and she knowingly turns in your direction. Just when you think she can't see very well, you give her a picture of the new 3 year old chinese great grand baby and tell her who it is and she says "I pray for this baby...it is so good, this thing you do....God is so good"
What a wonderful celebration of a beautiful spirit, and for her to turn all of the joy toward her Savior. Happy Birthday Grandma........

.............................................................................Happy Birthday Jesus.
Some people just let anybody hold their baby..........
