Sweet and Sour Chicken!! ;)
This photo was taken at the civil affairs office, less than 24hrs since she was given to us...in the very same room. We had to return to Civil Affairs the next day to finalize the adoption......(we were jokingly told by our guide that we had been babysitting for the orphanage for the last day).....but right before this picture was taken...we went into a room and were interviewed (asked three questions)...signed our names...and she is officially ours!!
...............so we thought we would bathe her............(just kidding....we washed that orphanage right out of her hair...the minute we got back to the hotel :)
..........................What a difference a day makes. She does have a little (spunk) spirit.....and.... bronchitis. :( We had to visit the clinic a day early. Fever.....cough...congestion.....tummy trouble...oh my. Soooo. After going through 2 doctors we finally found one that was up for the task and he was able to get us the prescriptions we needed and get us on our way. This was of course after the first doctor tried to look at her tonsils with the tongue depressor and baby crocodile locked down. After a minute of looking like he was trying to pry open an oyster he threw up his hands and said..."soa froat". errrrr I could have told you that...little dragon baby cried for 2 hours last night...next......get somebody in here with a backbone. Now all is well. She has some medicine in her system (that i had to mix myself?) and a nap underway. Another visit to the clinic tomorrow for her body exam and a TB test......I just prayed (chuckled) for the doctor who picks up her file. ;)

Such a difference a day makes...it's always amazing
ReplyDeleteIt's a one step forward...two steps back. Was it this way for you?
ReplyDeleteoh friend -- i cannot believe you have connected with the sims! i just skyped with meritt and she told me the story of meeting you yesterday...and having dinner together! i hadn't checked back with your blog in awhile and didn't know you were also heading over at the same time. love that! qwinn is PRECIOUS. oh my...she just has the sweetest face. and i love all these pictures of you in the civil affairs office -- i am sure we sat on that very same couch (who could forget the edgy black and white graphic throw pillows on red) with our bella. oh...seeing you all there just stirs my heart like nothing i can even explain. much love to you all! after y'all are home for a bit, we'll have to get these precious gift girls together.
ReplyDeleteI know!...How exciting! Qwinn is very tiny. We have had many people give us looks of concern about her size and it makes a momma worry. Yesterday as we were boarding the bus, Meritt told me that your Bella is petite as well....I needed that. God, in all of His grace, has continually wrapped me in His mercy at these moments. I am amazed at the connections our Father has made with these girls and all of our families...it's a beautiful thing! So excited to get them together. Blessings to you and your family sweet friend.
